Ben will briefly explain the definition of portable operating and give reasons why portable operating has its benefits. He’ll go on to explain a little about his adventures which mainly include SOTA, working DX and contesting…all by operating portable. Ben will run through everything that is packed away in his rucksack to enable a successful activation and he’ll also share some of his adventures with everyone, with time for questions at the end.

Anthony will discuss what QRP Operating is, how he got started and why you might want to give it a try. He will discuss a wide variety of QRP operating styles, take a look at some equipment used, and activities QRPers are involved in. He will discuss the unique opportunity it provides for Foundation Licensees, what any ham can accomplish with QRP and give examples of his success. He will also provide a large number of resources to assist you with QRP Operations.

Ronald gaat in die lezing eerst in op POCSAG in het algemeen en vervolgens op de werking en de structuur van DAPNET. Ingewikkeld is het niet maar je moet even door hebben hoe het precies in elkaar zit. Tot slot gaat hij in de lezing ook in op toepassingen.
Dat wordt weer een boeiende avond.

In this talk Heather will cover an introduction to flying HABs (High Altitude Balloons), the radio systems involved, some science experiments she did on their flights, the recovery system she developed to help find the payload when it lands and, of course, lots of pictures from “almost” the edge of space.

Jack and Al collaborated to build the T41-EP, a 7 band, 20W, CW/SSB SDR transceiver and this presentation is chiefly about how they developed the high performance CW decoder.
Jack and Al co-authored the Software Defined Radio Transceiver (2022) and Microcontroller Projects for Amateur Radio (2019) books and numerous articles and presentations. They are also co-founders of the Greater Cincinnati Builders Group and were awarded the RSGB’s Bennett Prize in 2021 for their article on their “Double-Double Magnetic Loop” antenna article in the February, 2020, issue of RadCom.

HELAAS KAN DE LEZING VAN HANS DOOR OMSTANDIGHEDEN NIET DOORGAAN

Lichtcommunicatie met leds of laser door Hans PD1AHM.
Hans zal op deze clubavond een heel aparte vorm van communicatie en het maken van verbindingen geven, waarbij men gebruik maakt van leds of lasers.
Hij zal beginnen met een uiteenzetting bij het gebruik van leds. Lekker eenvoudig, klein en met een grote openingshoek. Het bereik is daardoor wel iets kleiner en om dit te vergroten moet je met lenzen gaan werken om een smallere bundel te krijgen. Een voorbeeld is het “Elise”project in Duitsland.
Gevolgd door het gebruik van een laser. En dat is net zo eenvoudig, maar hier bespaar je het mechanische lenzenwerk aan de zender zijde. Als je lasers pakt met een fucusering aan de voorzijde is je openingshoek <1 graad. Een OM die het allemaal al jaren doet en uitgezocht heeft is Peter Greil DL7UHU. Een speciale lezing om zeker niet te missen dus.
