FOSDEM is a two-day event organised by volunteers to promote the widespread use of free and open source software.
Usually taking place in the beautiful city of Brussels (Belgium), FOSDEM is widely recognised as the best such conference in Europe.
FOSDEM is a free and non-commercial event organised by the community for the community. The goal is to provide free and open source software developers and communities a place to meet to:
- get in touch with other developers and projects;
- be informed about the latest developments in the free software world;
- be informed about the latest developments in the open source world;
- attend interesting talks and presentations on various topics by project leaders and committers;
- to promote the development and benefits of free software and open source solutions.
Participation and attendance is totally free, though the organisers gratefully accept donations and sponsorship.
The FOSDEM team feels it is very important for free and open source software developers around the world to be able to meet in “real life”.
To this end, we have set up developer rooms (devrooms) with network/internet connectivity and projectors where teams can meet and showcase their projects. Devrooms are a place for teams to discuss, hack and publicly present latest directions, lightning talks, news and discussions. We believe developers can benefit a lot from these meetings.

Workshop Eznec Pro2 +
Deze workshop wordt geleid door ON1LW, Robert.
EZNEC Pro/2+ V 7.0 is een softwarepakket dat wordt gebruikt voor het modelleren, simuleren en analyseren van antennes voor amateurradio en professionele toepassingen.
Het stelt gebruikers in staat om antennes te ontwerpen en te evalueren door middel van numerieke simulaties. EZNEC staat voor ‘EZ Antenna NEC’, waarbij NEC staat voor ‘Numerical Electromagnetics Code’.
Het is gebaseerd op NEC, een set algoritmen die elektromagnetische velden berekent en wordt veel gebruikt voor het analyseren van de prestaties van antennes.
Tijdens deze workshop op de clubavond is het de bedoeling dat we zelf met de software aan de slag gaan.
Robert zal ons de basisbegrippen uitleggen en ons op weg zetten om een eerste antenne simulatie uit te voeren.
Breng dus zeker je eigen laptop mee. We raden aan om de nodige (gratis) software EZNEC Pro/2+ V 7.0 op voorhand te installeren.

Opfrissing DMR en programmeren Hytera’s
Onze voorzitter ON6MID, Michel, zal voor de reeds bestaande en nieuwe DMR-gebruikers, de werkwijze en het gebruik van DMR nog eens voor ons opfrissen. Het is ook al een tijd geleden dat onze Hytera-toestellen werden geupdate. Gezien de Sysop enkele aanpassingen heeft doorgevoerd in de codeplug zullen al onze toestellen voorzien worden van de nieuwe aangepaste versie. Breng dus uw Hytera-toestel(len) mee !!!

Televisie bracht het leven in Vlaanderen in de huiskamer alsof je er zelf bij was.
70 jaar televisie in Vlaanderen: een reis door decennia van informatie, entertainment en verbondenheid.
In 1953 deed de televisie haar intrede en startte een revolutionair tijdperk dat het gezicht van Vlaanderen voorgoed zou veranderen.
Vandaag, 70 jaar later, vieren we deze mijlpaal van innovatie, informatie en entertainment.
