The Sherwood Ratings: Transceiver Performance for the HF DX & Contest Operator , Rob NC0B
Rob Sherwood’s name has become something of a standard in the radio amateur equipment world as a trusted comparison guide to the technical performance of a wide range of transceivers.
This presentation will explain the process that Sherwood Engineering go through to produce detailed performance figures for a wide range of transceivers. Rob will talk about the acquisition of a true random sample of the radio, through to the technical processes of measurement and the compilation and presentation of comparative results.
The presentation will also include details of Rob’s recent findings on the long awaited new Elecraft K4D.
Rob will also talk about how modern receivers have become very good but how generally many transmitters need attention to some aspects of their performance.

Op onze MLB-clubavond van vrijdag 18 juni 2021 om 20 uur gaan we opnieuw fysiek samenkomen aan ons clublokaal aan de Poolse Zaal.
Corona heeft ons sociaal leven en onze samenkomsten al een hele tijd lam gelegd.
Doch de coronacijfers gaan momenteel de goede richting uit en de vaccinatiecampagne gaat vlot vooruit.
We moeten wel nog rekening houden met een aantal voorwaarden en (corona)regels:
- de samenkomst zal buiten aan de Poolse Zaal plaats vinden, als het weer het toelaat
- we houden minstens 1,5 meter afstand van elkaar
- we dragen een mondmasker
We zouden het dan onder meer willen hebben over:
- hoe het met jullie en de hobby gaat
- hoe jullie de hele coronapandemie ervaren
- hoe het verder gaat na de vakantiemaanden juli en augustus
- welke vaste antenne we aan de Poolse Zaal permanent kunnen opstellen
- en alle andere onderwerpen waar jullie als leden het over willen hebben
Hopelijk zien we elkaar ter plaatse.

Assessing your station against ICNIRP EMF levels – John M0JAV
Ofcom is implementing changes to all transmitting licences to require licensees to comply with ICNIRP general public limits on EMF exposure. This will include previously licence exempt users who transmit at powers of more than 10W EIRP. John will introduce the work of the RSGB and ARRL experts in assessment of exposure to EM fields.
RSGB responded to the Ofcom consultation (on behalf of UK amateurs) and we are now preparing guidance on compliance with the new requirements. The talk will outline these requirements and introduce four ways to conduct and record the results of the assessment include calculating required separation, use of known compliant station configurations and potential mitigating actions.

Deze HF-dag wordt georganiseerd door de VERON en is dan ook bedoeld voor VERON leden, neem derhalve s.v.p. uw VERON-lidmaatschapskaart mee. Ook niet-VERON leden zijn welkom zij worden dan wel geacht een financiële bijdrage te betalen van 10 euro, deze kan worden voldaan bij de organisatie ter plaatse.
Eenieder wordt verzocht een roepnaam badge met call en naam te dragen.
Natuurlijk is er ook de uitreiking van de prijzen van de VERON Contesten.
De Corona Maatregelen gelden nog steeds, dus ook de 1,5m afstand, eenieder wordt verzocht zich hier aan te houden.
Het bezoekersaantal is hierdoor ook beperkt, het kan zijn dat er een afwijzing volgt als u zich nu nog aanmeldt.
